For a seamless experience, your encrypted data is held in your browser's localStorage. This allows you to navigate the site without losing your session. However, because browser cache can be cleared, your master copy remains your Encrypted JSON export.

It is your no-fuss companion for logging finances on the go, ready to sync with your financial tools whenever you want deeper analysis.
Local-First, Sync When Ready
By default every transaction is stored directly in your browser's localStorage — no server required, no sign-up needed. When you are ready for cross-device access or integration with external tools, switch to 2bdn server mode in Settings. Your data is then persisted in a private database partition identified only by your personal token.
Token-Based Privacy
Instead of a username and password, Money Tracker uses a randomly generated access token. Only requests that carry your exact token can read or write your records. Keep the token safe — it is the only key to your data.
Sync API
External financial tools can pull your transactions via the fetchData API and confirm receipt via the sync API. Once confirmed, each record is marked as synced so you always know what has been picked up downstream.
